The effect of E-based non curricular activities on developing EFL active listening skills of prep school students

The present study was conducted to investigate the effectiveness of using E- based non curricular activities on developing active listening skills of the third preparatory stage. The students chosen for the present study were sixty third year preparatory school students as an experimental group, enrolled at Tarek ibn Ziad preparatory school, Sohag, Egypt during the second semester of the academic year 2020/2021. The group was taught using E- extracurricular activities.These students were randomly selected as an experimental group. The experimental group was trained in E-based non curricular activities on developing active listening skills. Instruments of the present study included active listening skills test and observation card. The present study adopted the quasi-experimental group design. A variety of activities, strategies, presentation methods were introduced. Analysis showed that the experimental group in post performance achieved significantly higher than the pre performance on the overall active listening test and the sub-skills.The suggested training program was found very effective in improving the students listening skills.
ان الهدف من الدراسة الحالية هو تحديد فاعلية استخدام برنامج الانشطه الاصفية الالکترونية فى تنمية مهارات الاستماع النشط لدى طلاب المرحلة الاعدادية , وقد شارک ستون من طلاب الصف الثالث بسوهاج, حيث تلقت هذه المجموعة تدريبا مبنيا على برنامج الانشطة الاصفية الالکترونية فى تنمية مهارات الاستماع النشط,وقد تم اختيار مجموعة واحدة لتطبيق البرنامج وخضعت المجموعة التجريبية للاختبار قبلى وبعدى لاختبار مهارات الاستماع النشط, واشارت النتائج الى ان هناک تحسن ملحوظ فى مهارات الطلاب فى المجموعة التجربية فى مهارات الاستماع النشط.
