ظهرت في الآونة الأخيرة صيحات تنادي بضرورة الإصلاح الجامعي لكي تتمكن الجامعة من القيام بدورها التنموي المنتظر، وقد حظيت عمليات إصلاح التعليم باهتمام كبير في معظم دول العالم ونالت الجودة الشاملة والاعتماد المؤسسي باعتبارهما من الركائز الأساسية لنموذج الإدارة الجديد الذي يهدف إلى مواكبة التغيرات الدولية والمحلية ومحاولة التكيف معها فأصبح المجتمع العالمي ينظر إلى الجودة الشاملة والاعتماد المؤسسي باعتبارهما وجهين لعملة واحدة، ولذلك لا يمكن تحقيق مستوى متميز لجودة التعليم الجامعي إلا بتضافر جهود العاملين في الجامعة وتركيز أعضاء هيئة التدريس على تطوير أدائهم المهني، ونظراً لهذا المركز الأساسي الذي يحتله الأستاذ الجامعي من كونه محور العملية التعليمية أصبح من الضروري أن يكون متمتعاً بكفايات شخصية متكاملة وقدرات مهنية خلاقة ومعداً إعداد علمياً وثقافياً واجتماعياً ومهنياً، ويمكن تحديد مشكلة الدراسة الحالية في التساؤل: ما واقع الأداء المهني لعضو هيئة التدريس بالجامعات المصرية.
 
abstract
There have been calls recently calling for the necessity of university reform in order for the university to be able to play its expected developmental role. Education reform processes have received great attention in most countries of the world and have achieved comprehensive quality and institutional accreditation as they are among the main pillars of the new management model that aims to keep pace with international and local changes and try to adapt. With it, the global community has come to view total quality and institutional accreditation as two sides of the same coin, and therefore a distinguished level of university education quality cannot be achieved except with the concerted efforts of university workers and the focus of faculty members on developing their professional performance, and given this basic position that the university professor occupies as the centerpiece The educational process has become necessary for him to enjoy integrated personal competencies, creative professional capabilities, and a scientific, cultural, social and professional preparation. The problem of the current study can be identified in the question: What is the reality of the professional performance of a faculty member in Egyptian universities?
